Projects

Projects are a wonderful way to showcase your business’ best work. This feature is especially well suited for projects that you photograph well.

Add a Project

You first begin by logging in, and accessing ‘Projects’ on the left hand menu under ‘Content’.

In the top right corner, select the blue button that says ‘Add a Project’.

Once you have added a new project, you will need to fill in all the detail.

Title

When selecting a title, try to be as descriptive as possible.

A good strategy can include adding a location to your project titles.

Examples can include:

  • Pet Stained Carpet Transformation Anytown, Anystate
  • Gorgeous Yellow Kitchen Remodel
  • Vintage Vehicle Restoration Anycounty, Anystate
  • BrandName Ductless Water Heater Installation

Photos

For projects you will be asked to upload two sets of photos.

The Featured Image will be the most prominent photo for the Project. We recommend selecting your best photo.

Your Project Gallery will be the rest of the photos you want to display from your project. This can include before and after photos.

Here’s what the photos will look like on a profile.

Tips for photos:

  • Record the process, take photos before your project to show how your products and services work.
  • Try to get as many angles as you can, you’ll be able to show off all sides of your project and have lots of options.
  • Try to have natural lighting as possible.
  • Do not include client or employee faces unless you get permission.

Project Details

Project Details is all the additional information you fill in to help education your customers.

You can select the appropriate ‘Service’ of your project. These will pull in from your Business Profile (if you do not have any services listed in your profile, go back to add them).

Next is the service area. We don’t recommend publishing client addresses, but you can select the city and state the project was in.

Lastly, you have the Project Description. you can choose to be as minimal or detailed as you desire. Our recommendation is to write 150+ words for the project description (the image below contains 150 words). This allows a few details without overwhelming leads and prospects with information. The text editor displays basic options similar to any word processor.

Publish

The last thing you want to always remember to do it to publish the ‘Project’! You can find the blue ‘Publish’ button in the upper right corner.

View Project

Once you’ve published your Project, you can click the permalink, to view your project on your WhirLocal profile.

Your project has a unique link you can share with others. Projects are also designed to help drive more leads and feature your profile details. Directly to the right of your project will be a link to your WhirLocal profile and your contact form.
